There's a lot to say about this madcap house party, but our favorite part is the litany of presidents Dylan and his band rat-a-tat-tat toward the end of a polka sprint. You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows, but you definitely need "Must Be Santa" to put a holiday smile on your face.
Man this song swings. Just puts a spring in your step. Meanwhile, like "Must Be Santa" and "Beyond Here Lies Nothin'," it's not clear what the broken glass all this gang of troublemakers around reflects. Something is amiss even as that Duquesne Whistle blows long and proud and clear.
Here's a third boom-boom cha-cha-cha with an attitude, great drumming, sweet syncopation, and some kind of hidden rage that blows up the scene. Do they love? Do they fight? Do they run? Do they stay or do they go now? It's another parable of "mountains of the past" as unexplained and jaunty as it is unrestrained.
